130 People Test Positive For COVID-19 At PA Meat Packing Plant

HAZELTON, Pa. (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - 130 of the 900 workers at a meat packing plant in Hazelton, Pennsylvania have tested positive for coronavirus.

The Cargil Meat Solutions facility has been shut down temporarily.

Meat is packed there for supermarkets in PA and surrounding states.

Three other meat plants have recently closed in the state: JBS Beef in Souderton, CTI Foods in King of Prussia and Empire Kosher Poultry and Mifflintown.

Meat-processing plans in other states have also experienced COVID-19 outbreaks.
