150 New Cases In Allegheny County As COVID-19 Spike Continues

    PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) The Allegheny County Health Department has added 150 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the outbreak to 3,430.

    The spike in COVID-19 numbers in Allegheny County continues, Saturday marks the fifth consecutive day of over 100 new cases.

    The average age of new cases in the county is 26-years-old.

    A majority of the 3,430 cases come from the age range of 20-29, accumulating 26% of the positive cases.

    Two additional hospitalizations were added, bringing the total of past or present to 408.

    There were no additional deaths from COVID-19, the total remains at 187.

    The Health Department is advising everyone to wear masks, wash hands, and maintain a physical distance from others.

    They also recommend people limit travel and only do necessary errands.

    New cases are being assigned to case investigators and additional flex staff has been added, the department will be working shifts throughout the weekend.
