18th Congressional District Race Made Official

Democrat Conor Lamb edged out Republican Rick Saccone by 755 votes.

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The special election in Pennsylvania's 18th congressional district is official.

Allegheny County Board of Elections certified the race between Conor Lamb and Rick Saccone Monday morning, the last county to do so.

 Lamb defeated Saccone in the March 13 speical election by 15% in Allegheny County but lost to Saccone in every other county in the district.

 Lamb edged out Saccone with a total of 755 more votes.

The certification will be sent to the Department of State Tuesday.

Lamb is expected to be sworn after Congress returns from recess on April 9.
