PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - One local restaurant is closed and a consumer alert has been issued for another.

The Allegheny County Health Department has shutdown Huc’s Hideaway (Thomas Lounge) in Homewood and a warning was issued for Breaking Eggs Bakery Kiosk in South Hills Village.

Huc's in at 522 Rosedale Street was reportedly operating without a health permit.

The health department says that violations include:

“Unsound condition of food, inadequate cold holding temperatures, inadequate facilities to maintain food cold, improper storage of raw and ready-to-eat foods, lack of means to wash, rinse and sanitize kitchenware and utensils, lack of a hand sink in the kitchen, use of unapproved toxics, lack of a certified food protection manager, and lack of ventilation for cooking equipment.”

Breaking Eggs at 301 South Hills Village Drive in Bethel Park has violations including lack of refrigeration, food from an unapproved source and more.

Last week, the health department shut down Braddock’s Own Foods at 706 Braddock Avenue for operating without a health permit.

Other violations at "Braddock's" include holding food at unsafe temperatures, no commercial refrigeration, lack of a hand sink, lack of a utility sink, poor ventilation and no thermometer to check temperatures.
