6 Injured In Homewood Crash Involving Port Authority Bus

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) — Six people were injured, on critically, when an SUV collided with a Port Authority bus early Monday morning in Homewood.

It happened near the intersection of Bennet St. and North Dallas Ave. around 1 a.m. The bus also hit a telephone pole and a wall.

First responders used the Jaws of Life to extricate the bus driver who was taken to UPMC Mercy in critical condition.

The driver of the SUV and four passengers on the bus were taken to UPMC Presby. Three were in “moderate condition” and two had minor injuries.

Pittsburgh Police Crash Investigation Unit is assisting the Port Authority in the investigation.
