9 People Shot In Pittsburgh Area Since Sunday

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - It's one of the most violent weekends on record with shootings in five locations.

- Two people were wounded in Duquesne around midnight at the 1313 Saloon in the 1300 block of Kennedy Avenue. It's an establishment police say they're familiar with, where there's been violence and shootings. One of the victims died after being taken to UPMC McKeesport. He's identified as 55-year-old Donnell Demery of Duquesne. The other person was reportedly taken to a hospital in a private vehicle. No word on that person's condition.

- A man is in critical condition after being shot in the stomach early this morning in Bedford Dwellings. It happened around 12:45 a.m. in the 2400 block of Bedford Avenue. Officers found the unidentified man lying on the ground on Bedford Avenue near Somers Street.

- Four people were wounded during a fight last night in East Liberty. Police were called to the 5600 block of Broad Street around 9 p.m. They found two women who were wounded and at about the same time, a man and another woman, both wounded, showed up at a hospital. All have non-life-threatening injuries.

- A woman found shot to death in Lincoln-Lemington early Sunday morning has been identified. 63-year-old Elaine Pearson of Pittsburgh was discovered by police in an SUV in the 1500 block of Lincoln Avenue.

- Also early Sunday, police responded to a report of shots fired in Homewoood near the intersection of Frankstown and Brushton avenues and found a man lying in the street. He'd been shot multiple times. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

No arrests or suspects have been announced in any of these shootings. Police in both Pittsburgh and Duquesne are asking anyone with information to contact them.
