96 New COVID-19 Cases In Allegheny

There was one new hospitalization and no new deaths

    PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Allegheny County Health Department has announced its COVID-19 update for Sunday, June 28.

    There have now been 2,568 positive cases in the county, an increase of 96 from Saturday's number of 2,472.

    From those 96 cases, the ages ranged from three to 84; the median age was 27.

    The Allegheny County Health Department will be conducting contact tracing to investigate when and where the cases are being contracted. 

    There have been 382 hospitalizations, either ongoing or in the past, and there was only one new hospitalization to report from Saturday.

    186 confirmed or probable deaths related to coronavirus have been reported by the ACHD, but there were no new deaths from Saturday, June 27.

    The 25-49 age group is still the most affected demographic, but the 50-64 and 65 and older and groups have been affected nearly as much.

    As far as gender breakdowns, 53% of the cases have been found in women, while 47% were found in men.

    The Allegheny County Health Department has a digital map that can be used to follow the positive cases and their locations and densities across the county.
