Additional 1,334 Cases Of COVID-19 Confirmed In PA

HARRISBURG Pa. (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) The Pennsylvania Health Department (PAHD) has confirmed 1,334 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in their daily press conference, bringing the statewide total to 48,305.

PAHD also stated that there were 64 new deaths in the state, bringing the total number of deaths from COVID-19 to 2,418.

Nursing and care homes continue to be a big portion of cases in Pennsylvania as 8,827 residents and 1,148 workers are confirmed to have COVID-19.

Of the state’s 2,418 deaths, about 67% of them are from nursing and care homes with 1,614 deaths.

2,989 confirmed cases are healthcare workers.

While state specific numbers are not known, according to Google News 141,706 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the United States.

The 48,305 cases in Pennsylvania rank the state sixth in the nation in total cases, behind New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Illinois, and California.
