Air Canada Flights To Montreal Begin Today

It's The First Non-Stop Service To Montreal Since 2004

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Today is a big day for international travelers at Pittsburgh International Airport.

Spokesman Bob Kerlik telling KDKA Radio, flights begin today to a major Canadian destination.

"We're launching non-stop service to Montreal. On Air Canada, so this is the first non-stop service we've had to Montreal in several years, so we're very excited to launch that" said Kerlik.

This is the first time since 2004 a non-stop flight has been offered between the two cities.

The flight will use a 50 seat Air Canada Express CRJ-100 plane and depart Pittsburgh at 2pm and land at 4:10pm.

“Adding another international destination like Montreal is important for both business and leisure travelers alike and adds to the momentum at Pittsburgh International Airport,” Allegheny County Airport Authority CEO Christina Cassotis said. “We look forward to expanding our partnership with Air Canada in Pittsburgh’s growing international market.” Said Cassotis.

Benjamin Smith, President – Passenger Airlines at Air Canada, said the new flights offer additional convenience for Pittsburghers, and complement the airline’s long-time service to Toronto from Pittsburgh.
