SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - An off-campus robbery late Thursday has prompted Slippery Rock University to issue a campus-wide alert to its students and faculty.

Cpl. Tim Morando, with the State Police, tells the Butler Eagle they believe five people were involved and the victim was targeted.

He added that while they do have suspects in the violent robbery that occurred at the Grove City apartments, all five are still wanted.

The victim, who suffered a skull fracture, was transported to a Pittsburgh hospital in serious condition.

Police would not talk about a motive for the attack.

An email alert sent to student said the victim is not an SRU student and there is no current threat to the campus.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.
