PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A police officer in Aliquippa has been placed on paid leave because of his relationship with the victim of a fatal shooting Mother’s Day evening.

Police Sgt Kenneth Watkins was close to 33 year old Rachel DelTondo and her family according to Aliquippa police chief Donald Crouch.

He tells the Beaver County Times an officer shouldn't have access to what's going on if he's close to it.

He says Watkins and his family need time to mourn. DelTondo was shot multiple times in front of her mother's home. No suspects have been named.
