Allegheny County Adds 24 New Cases Of COVID-19

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) The Allegheny County Health Department has announced an additional 24 confirmed or probable cases of COVID-19 in the area.

This daily update brings the total number of cases in Allegheny County to 1,777.

The number of deaths in Allegheny County has remained at 150 with no new deaths reported in the last 24 hours.

There have been 318 past or present hospitalizations since the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in the county on March 14.

The Pennsylvania State Health Department is determining a “recovered” case as a case that has not been reported as a death, and it is more than 30 days past the date of their first positive test (or onset of symptoms) then an individual is considered recovered.

The state is reporting a 59% recovery rate at the time, and it is unknown of a county breakdown on recovery.
