Allegheny County Summer Concert Series Still Going Strung

Jefferson Starship, Better Than Ezra,and more are part of the free series

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - There is still plenty of time to catch the free concerts at Hartwood Acres and South Park Amphitheater

Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald says, “The 2018 Summer Concert Series has an exciting mix of styles that will appeal to music lovers of all ages. Whether you’re a frequent attendee, or have never been to one of our concerts, we hope you’ll join us for a great summer of live music, food trucks and craft beer.”

All shows at both locations begin at 7:30 p.m. 

South Park Amphitheater:

  • July 27 - Jefferson Starship with special guest Working Breed
  • August 3 - Better Than Ezra with special guest Two Birds
  • August 10 - Sweet Crude with special guest Donora
  • August 17 - BNY Mellon Jazz presents Jean Luc Ponty with special guest Lyndsey Smith
  • August 24 - Shawn Mullins with special guest Northern Gold
  • August 31 - Paul Luc & Kayla Schureman 

Hartwood Acres: 

  • July 29 - Lucius with special guest Brooke Annibale 
  • August 5 - Toots & The Maytals with special guest Hollis Brown
  • August 12 - BNY Mellon Jazz presents Larry Carlton with special guest Frank Cunimondo 
  • August 19 - Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre 
  • August 26 - Sinkane

In addition, Hartwood Acres will host the 19th annual Allegheny County Music Festival. The September 2 concert will feature local bands and the $20 per vehicle donation will go help children and youth in the county.
