Allegheny County Surpasses 1,500 COVID-19 Cases

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) The Allegheny County Health Department has announced an additional 17 cases of COVID-19 in Allegheny County, bringing the total number of confirmed and probable cases to 1,503.

The Department also confirmed or probable deaths from COVID-19 two new deaths, rising the death toll to 122 in the county.

Of the total deaths, 80% have been people over the age of 70.

To date, there have been 273 hospitalizations, past or present.

These numbers reflect include information given since the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Allegheny County on March, 14.

Gov. Tom Wolf announced that Allegheny County will be moving into the yellow phase of reopening on May 15, 2020.
