PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Munhall native Gabby Barrett is one of three finalists for the recently revived singing competition program, American Idol and is spending a whirlwind day in her hometown. It could affect your commute home if you travel around the North Shore.

She will throw out the first pitch at PNC Park Tuesday night before the Pirates take on the Chicago White Sox at 7:05 p.m.

Barrett will then be filmed by American Idol crews parading from PNC Park to Rivers Casino where she will play a free concert that will be followed up with fireworks.

The City of Pittsburgh is warning that the events will affect traffic in the area during that time.

“Temporary road closures and the expected gathering of Barrett's fans will affect traffic on Casino Drive between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.” the city said in a statement.
