Man Charged In 30-Year-Old Lawrence County Cold Case

NEW CASTLE (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) — State Police have charged a suspect in a 30-year-old cold case.

59-year-old Regis Brown of Fairview is accused of shooting 45-year-old Bryce Kenneth Tompkins execution style and leaving his body in the Neshannock Creek in Lawrence County in January of 1988.

Brown is serving life in prison after admitting to killing his wife and step-daughter.

State Police announced Thursday Brown admitted to committing the murder of Tompkins and at least five others in Lawrence and Erie counties between 1986 and 2016.

Brown faces charges of criminal homicide, assault and intimidation of witnesses.
