NEW CASTLE (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) — Police have made an arrest in the shooting deaths of three people Tuesday in a New Castle home.

19-year-old Steven Procopio of New Wilmington was taken into custody Wednesday night and will be charged with criminal homicide in the deaths of 31-year-old Nichole Pumphrey, her 10-year-old daughter Amariah Emery and 30-year-old Lawrence Cannon.

Police believe Procopio may have babysat Pumphrey’s children, but have not said anything about a motive.

The victims were found on the first floor of a home in the 800 block of West North St. Tuesday morning.

Four other children were inside the home at the time. They were unharmed and are in the care of family members.
