Baby Raccoon 14th Animal To Test Positive For Rabies In Allegheny County

The Health Department wants to know who dropped off the animal in Verona

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Allegheny County Health Department would like the person who dropped off a baby raccoon last Thursday at the Humane Animal Rescue Wildlife Center in Verona to get in touch.

The animal tested positive for rabies and authorities would like to know where it was found.

It's the 14th rabid animal reported in Allegheny County this year.

So far in 2019 11 raccoons, two bats and one cat have tested positive for the virus.
