PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Due to ongoing indoor dining restrictions, Big Burrito Restaurant Group has temporarily closed the doors to it’s specialty restaurants: Casbah, Kaya, Soba, Eleven, Umi, Alta Via.

“I understand that the state and the county need to protect as many people as they can. It’s just really difficult to operate our kind of business under these circumstances,” Big Burrito Restaurant Group President Bill Fuller said during the KDKA Radio Morning Show on Tuesday.

There is no way for the restaurant group to adequately plan how much food they need.

“There’s a lot of food you have to buy - and it’s all perishable with different timelines. You know, you can get a little ahead on your flower, but you sure don’t want to be ahead on the halibut because it will just go bad in a day or two and you’ll be out of a bunch of money,” Fuller explains.

All of the Mad Mex restaurants will remain open.
