NORTH HUNTINGDON, Pa (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - McDonald's is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Big Mac on the 100th birthday of it's inventor Jim Delligatti .

The KDKA Morning News broadcasted Thursday from the Big Mac Museum in North Huntingdon and amongst the people they met, there was one special employee who stuck out; Ruthie, a 97-year-old woman who is still hard at work.

She joined Larry and John for a few minutes to talk about why she is still on the job.

“I like it here, I like everything about it. Good working people, everybody’s nice,” she said.

Ruthie was hired at age 73.

What was her first job ever?  “I was a seamstress,” at the age of 18 she said.

Ruthie has her way of staying healthy. “I don’t drink and I don’t smoke, but I eat anything I want. I like candy,” she said. “I dance a lot, four nights a week usually.”

She also goes to the gym three times a week and walks on the treadmill for an hour. “I don’t walk fast, I walk slow,” Ruthie added.
