Caps Fan Who Won 50/50 To Benefit Tree Of Life Victims Donates Their Winnings

The season ticket holder waived $19,000

WASHINGTON (93.7 The Fan) - It might be one of the bitterest rivalries in sports, but one Capitals made an amazing gesture on Wednesday.

The fan who won the 50/50 during the Penguins and Caps game has donated their over $19,000 in winnings to the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh.

The Caps announced the season ticket holder “chose to waive their prize”.

That brought the total donation to $38,570.

Earlier this week the Capitals organization announced that half of the 50/50 would be donated to help benefit the victims and families of the Tree of Life synagogue shooting in Squirrel Hill.
