(PITTSBURGH Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The first Cartoon Network Hotel is officially open in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

“Instead of just the regular flag you see on hotels, because there's a lot of hotels in our area, we decided to do something unique and we reached out to Cartoon Network,” said Rick Stammel, Vice President of Theme Parks at Palace Entertainment, during an interview with KDKA Radio on Friday.

The satellite and cable television network liked the idea and the partnership started from there.

“There’s custom animation in the lobby - just the whole experience and look is very unique,” Stammel adds.

There are elements of the station's cartoons incorporated throughout the 150+ rooms. Some other features include restaurants, virtual reality games, an arcade, a resort style pool and more.
