Garfield Gets Spray Park, Slated To Start Splashing Spring 2019

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) — Garfield residents are getting a spray park.

Construction begins this month in Nelson Mandela Peace Park using a $100,000 Community Infrastructure and Tourism Fund grant from state Sen. Wayne Fontana.

The park is scheduled to open in Spring 2019.

Arlington, Beechview, Burgwin, Mellon, Troy Hill and Warrington spray parks have extended their season through Sunday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m.
