PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The City of Pittsburgh is working on a plan to help businesses, restaurants and transit emerge from coronavirus restriction.

A task force report to the city’s Department of Mobility and Infrastructure suggests how curbs, streets and other outdoor areas might be utilized to increase business and make customers feel safe.

But it recognizes there’s no one size to fits all approach.

Mayor Bill Peduto says one priority must be helping smaller businesses.

“Multi-generational businesses that have been in the family for years that have that unlike big box don’t have a surplus account to take on bad times,” said Peduto.

Neighborhood associations and business groups are now responding to a survey about what it will take to survive in a world with COVID-19
