PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) —

A lockdown at the  Colfax K through 8 School in Squirrel Hill has been lifted after police searched the school following an anonymous call about a student with a weapon came in around 9 a.m.

A Pittsburgh Public Safety representative tells KDKA there is no reason to believe the threat was credible at all.

The representative described a calm scene inside the school with some classes watching a movie while police searched class rooms.

A large crowd of parents gathered outside the school and have been briefed by police. While the school is not letting out students early currently, parents can take their children home if they choose.

The school at 2332 Beechwood Boulevard is about a mile away from the Tree of Life Synagogue where 11 people were fatally shot Saturday.
