HARRISBURG, PA (93.7 The Fan) - It took a little over an hour Wednesday for the judge and attorneys in the Michael Rosfeld trial to finish picking a jury in Dauphin County to hear the case in Pittsburgh next week.

The jury in the trial looks a lot like the population of the Pittsburgh area.

The jurors are divided equally by gender, six men, and six women.

By race, nine are white, three black.

Four alternates were also selected, three white men, one white women and while attorneys asked questions to reveal any opinions or bias among prospective jurors, Duquesne University law professor John Rago says the video will be key.

“Jurys are different today than they were 10 years ago. We know have video, we have body cameras, we have tape recordings,” said Rago

The mother of shooting victim Antwon Rose has called to calm and no protests during the trial. Rago says that would be a good thing.

“You don’t want that during a trial, I think that would be disruptive for the jury, they don’t need to hear that.”

Jurors will be bussed here Monday for opening arguments Tuesday. Estimates are for a seven day trial.

The ex-East Pittsburgh police officer faces one count of homicide for the shooting death of 17 year old Antwon Rose.
