PITTSBURGH (News Radio 1020 KDKA) –  Construction started Monday in Spring Hill on the Diana Street retaining wall and roadway.

The $900,000 project comes after a landslide that caused considerable damage to Diana Street in February 2018.

The city did several months of geotechnical analysis and engineering design before the project could begin.

Pittsburgh's Department of Mobility and Infrastructure says more than 8 million dollars of local funds will go towards maintaining roads, much of that investment a result of landslide activity.

The project is expected to last six months.
