Allegheny County COVID Positivity Rate Down But 53 Hospitalized Reported In 3 Days

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Allegheny County is reporting 132 new cases along with a 7.3 percent positivity rate, but hospitalizations are trending upwards.

There are seven more cases being reported on Thursday compared to Wednesday but the positivity rate is lower. 

The new cases come from 1,800 test results and range in age from 9 months old to 94 years old with the median age being 39.

The positive tests were taken July 15 through July 29.

126 of the new cases are confirmed, 6 probable.

23 new hospitalizations are being reported on Thursday. That marks 53 hospitalizations in the past three days.

One additional death is being reported. That individual in their 60s died earlier this week.

Since the first case of COVID-19 was reported in the county on March 14, 7,850 have been infects, 636 have been hospitalized and 235 people have died.
