Road Crews Ready For Blast Of Winter Weather

1-2 inches of snow and ice could fall before it changes over to rain

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Road crews are preparing for early Saturday morning snow and ice that is expected to fall around Pittsburgh before changing over to rain.

An inch or more of snow is possible before changing over to ice.

The Allegheny County Public Works Department morning says they will have 22 salt trucks with plows will be ready to go at 2 a.m. Saturday morning, and additional drivers will be brought in as needed.

AccuWeather says the snow and ice will make roadways and sidewalks slippery.

The snow and ice will then change over to all rain Saturday afternoon.

Drivers are reminded to give salt trucks plenty of room to navigate.

Temps will dip into the mid-20s overnight before climbing into the 40s late Saturday afternoon.
