PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala has released new details about the abduction and murder of little Nalani Johnson and the woman to be charged in her death.

Zappala told reporters Thursday that the evidence shows 25-year-old Sharena Nancy adducted Nalani and killed her. He added that the little girl’s father was not involved.

“The only evidence we have right now indicates that the defendant, the person who is under arrest right now for the kidnapping charges is responsible for taking that baby and ultimately the homicide that involved,” said Zappala.

Zappala says Nalani was found in her car seat upright in a wooded area of Pine Ridge Park in Indiana County and that she was likely dead when she was placed there.

Visitation will be held for Nalani from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Mount Ararat Baptist Church on Paulson Ave. with a service will follow.

A candlelight vigil for the toddler will be held at 8:15 p.m. Thursday at the Blairsville Amphitheater.

KDKA's John Shumway contributed to this report.
