Duquense Student Who Fell From Window To His Death Identified As Dukes Football Player

The student/athlete has been identified as Marquis "Jaylen" Brown

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Duquesne student who fell from a 16th floor window to his death Thursday night has been identified as junior football player Marquis Brown.

According to authorities, the incident happened around 10:30 p.m. at Brottier Hall on the 700 block of Forbes Avenue after campus police were called after a disturbance was reported.

As officers were talking with Brown he jumped out of the window and was taken to Mercy Hospital in very critical condition. He died a short time later. Foul play is not suspected.

Counselors have been made available on campus for anybody in need of support.

In a statement Duquesne said a memorial service is planned on campus Sunday.

“The thoughts and prayers of the entire University community go out to Marquis Brown’s family, friends, teammates and coaches during this time of great sadness for the entire Duquesne community.”

Brown was a running back for the Dukes out of DeMatha Catholic High School near Washington D.C.
