PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Alcohol will now be permitted in the dorm rooms at East Stroudsburg University, that is, if you are over the age of 21.

“We are excited at East Stroudsburg University to empower our students,” said Curtis Dugar, Director of Residential and Dining Services at East Stroudsburg University, during an interview with KDKA Radio on Tuesday.

“We wanted to challenge our students to be members of the community and demonstrate the responsibilities that they’ve asked for, while also creating a level of awareness and education surrounding alcohol consumption - in a way that allows for us to help them be better members of our community.”

The state university, located about 100 miles north of Philadelphia, broke the news early last week.
