(Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – You know summer is starting to wind down when we start getting winter predictions.

The 2020 Farmers’ Almanac is predicting a “polar coaster” winter.

The publication tells KDKA Radio for Western PA they expect a lot of “ups and down” temperatures wise with “mostly downhill rides on the thermometer this winter, especially in January.”

They also are “red-flagging” January 4-7 and January 12-15 as days with the potential for a big storm “bringing lots of snow”.

In addition, expect a deep freeze the last week of January and heading into the beginning of February.

If that isn’t enough, Farmers’ Almanac also predicts the cold and stormy weather could continue all the way into April.

The Almanac predicts the next 16 months of weather as well as life hacks, interesting stories and much more.
