Fayette County Fair Latest Casualty Of COVID-19 Pandemic

The fair's board of directors expresses safety concerns and lack of guidance from the state

    FAYETTE Co., Pa. (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The 2020 Fayette County Fair is the latest casualty of the COVID-19 pandemic.

    The announcement came on Tuesday night and said there were concerns for the safety of volunteers, exhibitors, vendors and visitors.

    The county’s Board of Directors also cited a lack of clarity from the state and potential financial risks.

    The fair is looking to still hold a market livestock show and sale for youth. Those details will be released in the future.

    The fair has been already rescheduled for 2021, running July 29 through August 7.

    The Big Butler, Washington County and Westmoreland County Fairs have also all be canceled.
