PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Rib Fest 2018 will be coming to a close once the day is over.

Nick Sero, Corporate Communications Manager at Heinz Field, joined KDKA Radio on Monday to tell listeners about the ribs, ribs competition, and the musical group that will be performing this evening.

What time does everything get started today?

"Starts off at noon, and we'll close a little bit earlier today," Sero said.

"Usually, we go from noon to 11:00pm, but it will be about noon to 9:00pm today. Unfortunately, some of us has have to go back to work tomorrow."

Who won the people's choice award for best ribs through the text line?

"For the fourth year in a row, it was Baddazz BBQ. They are based out of Pittsburgh, so I think that may be helping them a little bit," Sero added.

Who won the overall competition for best ribs and best sauce by the secret judges?

"We announced the winners last night. Our top 'ribber' this year was Pigfoot, they are based out of Chicago," Sero tells KDKA Radio.

"Pigfoot has been coming to Heinz Field for about 6-7 years now, and they always put this one at the end because it's their favorite. He's come really close, but he won this year."

Who were the secret judges voting on best ribs?

"Stephon Tuitt and Santonio Holmes were gracious enough to come and eat a little too much ribs and give us their votes," said Sero.

Who is tonight's musical guest?

"Parmalee is our headliner. They've been down here with the Steelers doing kick off stuff for us before, but honestly they could be the biggest fan favorite of all the groups we've had so far. They go on at 7 o'clock," Sero tells listeners.
