First Snow Of Season Not Expected To Be Big Deal

Only a coating on grassy areas is expected

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The first measurable snow of the season is expected Thursday evening into Friday but AccuWeather says it isn’t anything to get too excited about.

Meteorologist Isaac Longley tells KDKA Radio rain and drizzle will eventually change over to snow later Thursday into the evening.

“Thankfully for the most part we are not expecting much in the accumulation of snow . . . there could be a small accumulation across some of the areas,” said Longley. “Maybe a coating in some spots. I think any coating we do see will be on grassy surfaces and not necessarily on roadways since roadways are still warm at this time of year.”

Temperatures will struggle to get out of the mid 40s Thursday and temperatures will continue to trend downward into early next week.
