Flood Concerns On Area Rivers Include Mon Wharf Parking Lot

Vehicles should be removed from the wharf by 8 p.m.

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) — Heavy, persistent rains across Northern West Virginia and the Southern Mountains of Western Pennsylvania are causing flooding concerns for area rivers.

There is a flood advisory in effect for the Ohio River at Pittsburgh until Saturday night.

The Pittsburgh Parking Authority is asking anyone parked at the Mon Wharf to move their vehicles by 8 p.m. Friday.

The Ohio is expected to flood the wharf at that time, and will crest Saturday morning.

There is a flood warning for the Youghiogheny River at Connellsville, Fayette County until 12:40 a.m. Saturday. The Youghiogheny will crest Friday afternoon.

The National Weather Service reminds residents not to drive through flooded areas.
