Fourth Straight Day Of Over 100 New COVID-19 Cases In Allegheny County

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) The Allegheny County Health Department has added 177 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the outbreak to 3,280.

The 177 new cases continue a spike in numbers in Allegheny County, who announced Thursday that it will be mandating a closure of bars, restaurants, and anything that would have 25 or more people for a week starting Friday, July 3, 2020.

There were also five new hospitalizations, bringing the total number of past or present hospitalizations to 406.

This is the fourth day in a row the county has seen an increase of 100 or more cases, a majority of the numbers coming from ages 25-49.

The average age of all cases in the county is 28.

There were also no new deaths from COVID-19, keeping the total at 187.
