Fred Rogers Movie Starring Tom Hanks Has A Title

It's going to be 'A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood'

November 22, 2019 will certainly be "A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.” That’s the release date and new title for the Fred Rogers movie starring Tom Hanks.

The Sony Pictures movie is about the real-life relationship between journalist Tom Junod (played by Matthew Rhys) and Rogers and how the resulting friendship changed Junod’s life.

It was previously believed the title of the movie was “You Are My Friend”.

“A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” is directed by Marielle Heller.

“Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” was filmed in Pittsburgh at WQED and aired from 1968 to 2001. Prior to that Rogers hosted “The Children’s Corner” with Josie Carey.
