PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Gas prices are down in Western Pennsylvania. That’s the good news.

The bad news is prices are still high.

AAA reports prices dropped by two cents around Western PA to bring the average to $3.08 a gallon. That’s 3 cents higher than this time last year.

The average in Pittsburgh is $3.14.

The national average is down 3 cents at $2.86.

Pennsylvania have the highest gas tax in the country and Allegheny is the only county in the area  currently using the more expensive summer blend gas.
