PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA/AP) - Several flights are delayed at Pittsburgh International due to the government shutdown.

The Federal Aviation Administration says it's having staffing problems at facilities in New York and Florida, where there's been a "slight increase in sick leave"

FAA spokesman Gregory Martin told the AP Friday that it had augmented staffing, rerouted traffic and increased spacing between planes as needed.

So far at Pittsburgh International, three outbound flights and four inbound to New York LaGuardia Airport have been delayed. Check flights here.

Martin adds safety is being maintained during a period of "minimal impacts" on travel.

LaGuardia Airport in New York and Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey were both experiencing delays in takeoffs.
