(Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Democratic Governor Wolf is enjoying his highest approval ratings since he was first elected.

A Quinnipiac University poll shows that 54 percent of Pennsylvanians approve of the job Wolf is doing.

It is his first positive rating since he had a 45 percent in August 2015.

"Pennsylvanians are feeling good about their state and its economy and that seems to be helping Gov. Tom Wolf's job approval rating," said Mary Snow, polling analyst for the Quinnipiac University Poll.

Disapproval for the governor is at 33 percent.

Approval among Democrats is at 84 percent and Independents approval is at 50 percent.

Republican disapproval is at 63 percent.
