PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Celebrate the halfway point of the 2018 MLB season with Voice of the Pirates Greg Brown and his special guest Pirates color commentator and 1971 World Series hero Steve Blass at the newly remodeled Parkway Theater/Film Lounge in McKees Rocks this Sunday, July 15 for another edition of An evening with Greg Brown and Friends.

Blass’ Gem: A live replay of the game that started the best decade of Pittsburgh sports will feature a replay of game seven of the 1971 World Series. During the replay attendees can ask Blass what was going on through his head during the classic game.

Greg explains the thrill of hearing Blass’ thoughts.

“There are a lot of neat, interesting, tidbits that people aren’t aware of that I now know because I sat and watched it with Steve,” said Brown. “It gives an opportunity to find out exactly what they were thinking as the events unfolded.”

Blass talks about sharing his story and educating individuals about it.

“It’s very, very special. Pitching the seventh game of a World Series is something you're almost afraid to dream of,” said Blass. “Everybody has dreams, but when you get to live something like that, it’s wonderful to touch back on.”

Brown says the theatre is the perfect place to hold the event.

"It’s very intimate, limited seating, and we sit there and watch the game. It’s like a bunch of guys sitting around the bar chatting."

Admission is $75 and it includes: draft beer, soft drinks, and a seat in the theater. There will also be a trivia game with great prizes including tickets to an upcoming Bucs game. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and the replay of the classic game will start at 7:05 p.m.
