Consumer Alerts Issued For Two Pittsburgh Restaurants

Spoon in East Liberty and Uncle Sam's in Oakland cited for multiple violations

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for two local restaurants.

Spoon on Highland Avenue in East Liberty was cited for rodents and insects, unsafe cold holding for food, toxic items being labeled incorrectly, stored or used, dishwasher not sanitizing, poor personal hygiene and more.

Uncle Sam's Subs on Oakland Avenue in Oakland was cited for roaches and mice, unsafe cold holding and foods not protected from cross-contamination.

The alerts were posted Wednesday.
