Joe DeNardo Dead At 87

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - In Pittsburgh, the phrase “Joe Said it Would” was part of the city's daily conversation. The man the words referred to, retired WTAE chief meteorologist Joe DeNardo, has died.

The Duquesne graduate got his masters degree in meteorology at the University of Chicago and joined channel 4 in 1969. With anchor Paul Long, DeNardo forged a long-running and successful presence at WTAE.

DeNardo retired in 2005. He was 87.
