PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Jordan Brown was 11-years-old when convicted of murder in 2009, now he is a free man.

The state Supreme Court overturned Brown’s conviction after nine years of appeals.

He was accused of killing his father’s pregnant fiancé inside their Lawrence County home in but justices ruled there was insufficient evidence.

Jordan’s father Chris Brown said at a press conference at lawyer Stephen Colafella's Beaver County law office Monday they are relieved but frustrated with the system.

“Half of his life he has spent in this system to get to our final day today. That to me is an issue.”

Chris Brown adds he hopes that police reopen the original investigation.

“I would hope they would reopen the case and pursue the actual murderer who, by the way, has been walking the streets for nine years.”

Jordan, now 20-years-old is out of prison and attending classes at Community College of Beaver County.

The Brown family is considering a civil lawsuit against authorities for wrongful arrest and prosecution.
