PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Point State Park will have a variety of entertainment throughout the day on Wednesday.

Show producer for LionHeart Event Group, Derrick Weber, joined KDKA Radio this Fourth of July to talk about the festivities that will take place.

The event will begin in the afternoon.

“We’ll open things up at noon today. We will have activities throughout the entire day going all the way up until the fireworks,” Weber said.

Music will be heard all day long. He gives listeners a rundown of the musical performers.

“We have The Dorals, Time Tested, The Hobbs Sisters, Delta Struts. The highlight of the day is going to be Gabby Barrett, American Idol Finalist,” Weber added.

Kids will be able to enjoy themselves. There will be a "Kid's Zone" open for children.

“We’ll have different interactive crafts for them, face painters, balloon artists and other various activities like that.” He continued,

“Stilt walking Uncle Sam comes down at four o’clock.”

The Fort Pitt Museum will also organize some performances; rifle/musket demonstrations and fife and drum performances.

“They will have a lot of demonstrations throughout the day. A lot of things that go into the theme of the day; Americana, the Fourth of July and history of the United States,” said Weber.

Safety precautions are set up to prevent an emergency from happening.

“There will be bag checks at the park. No weapons, no fireworks, no selfie sticks,” Weber told listeners.

Fireworks will begin at 9:35.
