PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Fifty of Pittsburgh’s hardest working women who excel in their fields were honored by the New Pittsburgh Courier Thursday morning at the annual Women of Excellence Luncheon at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Hotel.

Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto spoke at the event talking about the 50 women being recognized and how important their work and dedication is.

KDKA Radio is proud that one of those women recognized at the luncheon was our very own Timira Rush.

“T” as she is affectionately known by her friends and co-workers has spent over 20 years at the big K.

She started her career working with Bob Logue on the Undercover Club and then moved on to work with all of KDKA Radio’s big names including John Cigna, Larry Richert and John Shumway, Marty Griffin and the late Mike Pintek.

She currently produces the Lynne Hayes-Freeland show from noon to 3 p.m.

We are proud to have had this self-avowed “news junkie” with us for so long and congratulate her on this tremendous honor!
