PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Little Italy Days returns to Bloomfield Thursday night and runs through Sunday.

Event Planner for Little Italy Days, Sal Richetti, joined KDKA Radio on Thursday to talk about all of the events and performances that will be featured on Liberty Avenue over the next couple of days.

Richetti tells KDKA people are going to “experience a lot of food and a lot of entertainment.”

Festivities will begin tonight when a special guests take the stage.

“Paul Martino and his All-Star band will kick off the evening,” Richetti said.

Jack Hunt from Johnny Angel and The Halos will join Paul and company.

There will also be a Celebrity Bocce Ball Tournament tonight; Richetti said,

“We have Franco Harris and Roberto Clemente Junior playing Celebrity Bocce.”

Other participants include Mayor Peduto's Italian Team and Councilman Corey O'Connor’s Irish Team.

There will be more musical acts over the weekend. Richetti said Pure Gold will be performing on Sunday at 3:00pm.

“This is their 40th Anniversary show.” He added,

“On Saturday I'm bringing in this Earth, Wind, and Fire tribute band. Absolutely Amazing. They are coming in on Saturday at 4:30, among other bands.”

Miss Little Italy, Italian Idol, and Tambellini’s Pasta Eating Contest are a few competitions that will be taking place as the weekend goes on.
