PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Mike Gallagher and his music have been a St. Patrick’s Day tradition on the KDKA Radio Morning News for years. This year he brought his son Danny along to continue the celebration.

Mike spent much of 2017 battling cancer and while his fight continues, he says his doctors are now cautiously optimistic and he is feeling better.

To help, family and friends of came together late last year and raised money to cover medical costs with a night of great music and drink at the “Move A Mountain for Mike” concert.

The response was so overwhelming; they decided to start “Move A Mountain Missions” and help others in need.  The organization raises money to send high school and college students to Jamaica to volunteer at a home for special needs and abandoned children.

Dan says it is a way for people to, “support a great cause while drinking on a good conscience.”

Mike and his other son, Johnny, will perform April 6 at Pittsburgh’s Grandhall at the Priory on the North Side. Scythaian, Jim Lamb of Guaranteed Irish and other special guests will join them.
